Namdapha

Namdapha is a protected forest landscape in eastern Arunachal Pradesh, approached through Miao in Changlang district. The national park's ecological variety is its main attraction, while Deban provides a recognised point associated with visits into the forest. This is a place to plan around authorised access and patient observation.

Discover Namdapha

A forest trip should be prepared differently from ordinary town sightseeing. Ask the responsible authorities about the current route, guide arrangements and any stay inside the protected area before committing to transport. The Noa-Dihing river setting adds to the landscape, but water crossings and remote trails should never be improvised.

Places to explore

  • Namdapha National Park

The park protects a diverse forest environment near Miao, with wildlife interest best approached through authorised routes and attention to habitat.

  • Deban

Deban is a recognised visitor base within the Namdapha approach, associated with the river and forest setting rather than guaranteed services or unrestricted trails.

Suggested sightseeing plan

Use this as a starting point. Adjust the sequence to your interests, access arrangements and local conditions.

  1. Suggested start: use Miao to verify permissions and current conditions, then proceed towards Deban only under the confirmed arrangements.
  2. Then: follow an authorised forest route appropriate to the group, keeping wildlife expectations open and returning according to the agreed plan.

Planning your visit

  • Confirm Arunachal entry formalities separately from the park's own permissions, and obtain current advice on the Miao–Deban approach.
  • Arrange the necessary guide and overnight support before entering the forest; do not assume accommodation or trekking access is available on arrival.
