Similipal
Similipal is a protected forest landscape where wildlife, wooded routes and waterfalls form the visitor experience. Barehipani and Joranda are prominent attractions identified by Odisha’s wildlife authority. A visit must be organised around the currently permitted entry point and route, rather than around an assumption that every waterfall or forest road is accessible on demand.
Discover Similipal
The reserve’s ecological value is broader than a tiger sighting. Forest habitats and waterfall viewpoints can be rewarding even when animals remain out of sight. Keep the itinerary modest and follow the authorised route; a road transfer to the region does not provide reserve permission, a guide or a guaranteed wildlife encounter.
Places to explore
Barehipani Falls
One of the reserve’s major named waterfall attractions, to be included only when it lies on an authorised visitor route.
Joranda Falls
The waterfall drops into a forested gorge and provides another important landscape stop within Similipal’s protected setting.
Suggested sightseeing plan
Use this as a starting point. Adjust the sequence to your interests, access arrangements and local conditions.
- Suggested sequence: report at the confirmed reserve entry point and follow the assigned route.
- Include only the waterfall stops permitted within that itinerary, allowing time for the required exit.
Planning your visit
- Confirm entry permission, reporting point and the permitted route through official reserve channels before travelling.
- Do not feed wildlife, leave vehicles where prohibited or assume sightings can be guaranteed.
