Kaziranga

Kaziranga is a wildlife landscape shaped by the Brahmaputra floodplain, with tall grass, wetlands and woodland supporting the greater one-horned rhinoceros. Its UNESCO recognition reflects the importance of this ecosystem. A rewarding visit pays attention to habitat and birds as well as the large mammals that attract most visitors.

Discover Kaziranga

Plan the trip around a confirmed park entry rather than assuming a road transfer includes a safari. The landscape changes with water levels and seasons, and different visitor routes may be available at different times. Leave space in the schedule for an interpretation of conservation and the surrounding floodplain.

Places to explore

  • Kaziranga National Park

The protected landscape is internationally recognised for its rhinoceros population and the diversity of wildlife sustained by its grasslands and wetlands.

  • Kaziranga National Orchid and Biodiversity Park

Assam Tourism includes this separate visitor attraction in its Kaziranga circuit; confirm its own entry arrangements rather than treating it as a safari.

Suggested sightseeing plan

Use this as a starting point. Adjust the sequence to your interests, access arrangements and local conditions.

  1. Suggested start: reach the agreed visitor area, verify the entry details and learn which habitats the confirmed route will cover.
  2. Then: take the authorised wildlife excursion, leaving later plans flexible enough for weather, park instructions and a quiet return.

Planning your visit

  • Ask the park or authorised operator which entrance and activity are confirmed for your dates before arranging local transfers.
  • Wild animals move freely, so neither rhinoceros sightings nor access to a particular route should be treated as guaranteed.
