Pinjore

Pinjore rewards a visit that combines two very different heritage settings: the formal composition of Yadavindra Gardens and the older remains displayed at the Bhima Devi Temple site. Together they provide a compact introduction to garden design, architecture and sculpture within Haryana’s Panchkula district, close to the Chandigarh region.

Discover Pinjore

The gardens are also called Pinjore Gardens, so those names refer to the same attraction. The Bhima Devi site provides the archaeological counterpoint, with temple remains and sculptural material. Keep the two experiences distinct rather than treating the temple collection as merely an ornament of the gardens.

Places to explore

  • Yadavindra Gardens

This historic garden follows the Mughal garden tradition, using a formal architectural setting to organise an extended, leisurely walk.

  • Bhima Devi Temple Site Museum

The archaeological site preserves remains of a medieval Hindu temple and associated sculpture, adding an older historical layer to Pinjore.

Suggested sightseeing plan

Use this as a starting point. Adjust the sequence to your interests, access arrangements and local conditions.

  1. Suggested start: explore Yadavindra Gardens slowly, noticing how built elements organise the garden rather than rushing between photographs.
  2. Suggested continuation: visit the Bhima Devi site and examine the sculpture displays with attention to their archaeological context.

Planning your visit

  • Wear shoes suitable for both garden walking and archaeological ground; ask locally which routes avoid steps if needed.
  • Check the temple museum’s current access separately from the garden entrance, since the neighbouring attractions have different purposes.
